Livin' It Up

Livin' It Up
CD 2006 Sammy Hagar and The Wabos

Liner Notes

Livin' It Up! is a semi-based "lifestyle" album from Sammy Hagar and The Waboritas. While writing with Kenny Chesney and covering Toby Keith, Sammy dialed down the energy a couple of notches here and began singing about enjoying the life of a beach dweller. It was vaguely reminiscent of Jimmy Buffett career, and Sammy even used this time as opportunity to catch more easy-going party fans as he went on a brief tour with Kenny Chesney.

I originally wrote this album off as "too beach-y" for me. Man was I wrong. My fave is also "Halfway To Memphis", I prefer this more country sounding version over the "Not 4 Sale" original, although both are awesome. LOVE to hear Sammy and Aaron harmonize on "Someday", so beautiful!!

Certainly one of my favorite " beach ' desert island discs. The feel of this album is a great one and it helps to bring out that beach mode. My favorite on this one is " Halfway To Memphis. " It's just a great movie for your ears!
