Cabo Wabo Birthday Bash Tour

My fellow REDheads, tonight was one of the most incredible concert experiences I've ever had.  Being on stage was a longtime dream of mine and Neil's (my husband), but I never thought it would happen.  But let me tell you a little story....

I arranged the preparty tonight for the SAT show.  The crew voted for Dick's, so that's where we met.  The food was good (as was the company, of course), but the rest left much to be desired IMO.  We hung out there for about an hour, and then we headed over to the Majestic.

The theater is a great place for any kind of show because of its historic designation and superior acoustics.  But tonight was even more special because it was Sammy.  A group of 10 of us Netheads hung out by the Cabo Wabo Tequila bottle, and at about quarter to 8, the magic began.

We ended up backstage signing our waivers and getting the drill about how to behave.  And the next thing I knew, we were all up on stage on the Cabo Wabo set!  We all got together on the right side of the stage, and soon after the party began.

These were the REDheads onstage in SAT tonight:

me
Neil
Donna W.
Laura S.
Tammy
Ross
Angie
Trevor
Michelle from Houston  (the Glowstick Queen )
(and I know I am forgetting two people here but I am still so excited that
I can't think straight!)

Sammy and the whole crew gave their all at the show.  Sammy was having some problems with his guitars.  I'm not sure exactly what was going on, but he didn't look too happy a couple of times.  But the crowd was into the show and everyone was obviously enjoying it.

The coolest parts were when Sammy came up into the "cantina" and gave all of us hugs and when we did the "Marching to Mars" walk.  Tammy managed to get two pairs of customized panties and a box of "serious JuJuBees" up to him.  Michelle from Houston generously provided all of us with red glowsticks.  And I have to say that the right side of that stage was rockin'!

I can't put into words what a fabulous time I had and how much this experience meant to me.  And it was that much more special because I had my husband and my REDhead friends up there with me.  The only regrets I have are missing the drumstick David tossed right at me and not getting Sammy and The Waboritas to sign my SammyCon hat.  But those are dreams for another time....

There are lots more details, but I'll let my fellow concertgoers fill them in.  All I can say is thanks to my SHML friends, Ken, Sammy, Vic, David, Mona, and Jesse for an evening that was more than I deserved and everything I hoped for.

Thanks to Dawn Elmore-McCrary for the review and set list!
