What Sammy Has Been Up To For The Past Few Months

Sammy Hagar BLOG

I can truly say I am starting out 2018 refreshed after our Hagar family vacation throughout the world – wow, what an amazing time! We had to refuel the plane just 5 1/2 hours out of Maui in a little funky island called Pago Pago that didn’t even have a tower for the airport, but the Samoan people were super nice! We made it to North East Australia on the Gold Coast where we celebrated Christmas. It was a great first leg of the trip.

Soon after, we made a quick stop in Phuket, Thailand and got a taste for their main form of transportation around and celebrated New Years Eve with some traditional Thailand dancers. We even enjoyed our own personal swimming pool outside our bathroom door. The full moon in Cancer on the night of January 2nd provoked the concierge at our hotel to give us a private family ceremony of candles and incense with local flowers. We did a prayer and we set it into the pond at the hotel – a very beautiful spiritual experience indeed!

After Thailand, we were off to Cambodia where we saw these neat waterways from the plane that were called the Phi Phi islands. Kari and I had a good time going through customs upon our arrival in Cambodia. The hotel sent a car to pick us up and gave us each an ice cold coconut to enjoy. Now that’s first class. The Circle poster was in the hotel lobby – everyone loves The Circle! There were street vendors all over the place selling tarantula, scorpion, snake, frog, cockroach, and a couple other creatures I didn’t quite recognize. I was tempted but I passed. There wasn’t anything on this planet that I have ever heard of that wasn’t for sale in that bazaar shopping area. Then we passed a Buddhist temple that had a strange array of statues with a vulture eating a man’s guts etc…

Finally, we made it to Hội An, Vietnam where we celebrated Kari’s birthday! What a great time all around the world. Let’s see what 2018 holds!
