EVENT / CONCERT - SAMMY HAGAR & THE WABOS
Jun 20, 1999

The Brady Theater

Tulsa, Oklahoma

The Red Voodoo Tour

This was the best Sammy show this year!!!  We saw him in Memphis and at
Kansas City, but he just blew the roof off the Brady Theater in Tulsa.  The
crowd was really small (under 3K) and you could tell that everyone was a
hard-core redhead.  Before the show started the people on the floor and in
the balcony were throwing beach balls around and yelling, definitely more of
a party crowd than a typical concert.

Sammy came out just a little after 8:00 and started with Cabo Wabo (as
usual) and just cranked it up from there.  He was drinking, the crowd was
drinking, everyone was happy and you could tell that Sammy really dug the
small crowd and how into it they were.  He was dancing with people on the
stage (I’m still trying to figure out how to get on there) and talking to
the audience.  He even played Poundcake…a personal favorite.

As for the Waboritas…I want to be Mona when I grow up!!!  David also had an
awesome drum solo which showed a lot of people exactly how much the
Waborita’s really rock.

We took my friend’s mom for her 44th birthday.  She just went with the girls
and she was so cute.  She just kept watching Sammy, clapping and singing.
She called today and said that it was one of her best birthdays yet…all
because of Sammy!

All in all, we met some netheads in line, saw a great show and are on a
quest for the front row at Omaha in Aug.  My final thoughts… MAS SAMMY!!!!!

Thanks to Katana Ewbankk for the review and S & D Tatro for the set list.
