Cabo Wabo Birthday Bash Tour

It was Cabo time in Toledo. Sammy Hagar, with no opening act, played to 3,000 screaming fans. As usual, Sammy interacted with the crowd, poured his Tequila, signed merchandise, and played for over two hours to adorning fans.
From the opener, Ten 13, Sammy (decked out in a bermuda top and shorts) kept smiling behind sunglasses and his signature smile. Highlights of the show included his usual anthems, Rock Candy, Mas Tequila, Three Lock Box, Little White lies, and I can’t drive 55.  He played Van Halen favorites Why can’t this be love, Top of the world, and Finish what ya started. His encores were Marching to Mars and Cabo Wabo. It was a celebration (or a party) of over 25 years of Sammy Hagar.  Last year in Toledo, he played a free concert which drew over 50,000 people. Even though it was a smaller venue, it was the greatest Sammy show I’ve ever seen. Off his new Cd, he played Ten 13, Shaka Doobie, Let Sally Drive, and Serious JuJu. He’s never sounded better. The songs off the Cd sound just as good live. (as do all Sammy tunes)

If you have a chance, see this tour. It’s reaffirms the reason why for the past 25 years, I’ve been swept away!!!

Thanks to Tom Mishka for the review!
