EVENT / CONCERT - SAMMY HAGAR & THE WABOS
Jun 4, 1999

Blossom Music Center

Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio

The Red Voodoo Tour

As everyone knows, we were lucky enough to be on stage for the Blossom show.
It was an experience I will never forget, and I am so grateful for the
opportunity. The group of us met by the stage and had to sign waivers and
they checked our ID’s, then they led us up on stage. I wound up standing
right behind Victor. It seemed like we waited forever, then the band came
out on stage and did Cabo, we didn’t get to see this because the curtain was
still down. They opened the curtain to a crowd of 9,000 and rocked the whole
night. I know I didn’t stand still the whole time I was up there, and I was
suprised that most of the other people were just standing there. I don’t
know if they had stage fright or what? I’ll tell you, I didn’t notice the
9,000 people out there, as far as I was concerned it was just me and the band
there. I think someone else posted the set list, which is good, because I
can’t remember everything that was played. I know others have commented on
the sound quality, but I guess I was so into it, it really didn’t matter.

During Why Cant this Be Love, Sammy came over to my side of the stage and I
got to sing. During MTM, everyone danced around the stage, Victor came up
the stairs and I got to dance with him a little – Hi Victor! When we got to
the front of the stage I asked Sammy if he would sign Erik’s shirt (our son –
he’s 4). I held it across my chest 🙂 so he could sign it.

We got our
picture’s with him there. They are up on the website if anyone wants to see
them.. The thing that really floored me though is that when we were leaving,
so many people came up to us and said “Man, you guys were great up
there”…LOL I’m like WHAT??? You didn’t come to see me. Then in the
parking lot people were still coming up to us and saying we were great, I
couldn’t stop laughing. I got my 2 hours of fame I guess.

Hey Sammy, If you need a “dancing girl” give me a call…LOL I’m available
on weekends 🙂

All I can say is if you get the opportunity to be on stage enjoy it to the
fullest, it goes by SO fast.

Thanks to Dana & Steve for the review and Alan Robinson for the set list!
