Couldn’t turn down my hometown PD’s request for a cameo! Does this mean I get a free pass next time? :)

Acoustic 4 A Cure Last Night

Last night at The Fillmore was an enlightening experience for me on so many levels. First of all, I think I’m finally understanding myself and what this event is all about. Every year I have been winging it, flying by the seat of my pants, fingers crossed and wiping the sweat from my brow at the end of each show.

Recap from the Tahoe Family Show Last Night

Recap from the Tahoe Family Show Last Night

I’m starting to love these acoustic shows more and more every time I do one. The songs on our set list are all hidden treasures. When I sing the songs I feel so much, it’s hard to explain. Some are actually very emotional and hard to sing. The fans that get the family acoustic shows, are as special as the songs!

BAMMIES Walk Of Fame Induction

BAMMIES Walk Of Fame Induction

What an honor to be inducted into the BAMMIES Walk of Fame - nothing like being recognized by the your home town! Thanks to Dan Ashley for the great introduction, congratulations to fellow inductee Steven Seaweed, and thanks to Kenny Wardell Sr. for putting it all together.

In 1967 when I first came to San Francisco I knew it was a place for me. There was (and still is) something about the music scene that is not the middle-of-the-road, commercial path. That is the road I am still on. I like where it's taken me thus far, and I am still excited about the road ahead!

Red Voodoo's 19th Anniversary

Red Voodoo's 19th Anniversary

Red Voodoo... it meant a lot for me in my transition from being a rockstar (Van Halen) at my peak to getting back to basic heart and soul, of what I wanted to do as a child.

The one word that says it all about this CD is "Fearless".

I wasn't trying to write a hit song. I wasn't trying to advance my career to be more rich and famous. I wanted to be happy, I wanted to make music that would make other people happy, and that's when everything came together.

What Sammy Has Been Up To For The Past Few Months

I can truly say I am starting out 2018 refreshed after our Hagar family vacation throughout the world – wow, what an amazing time! We had to refuel the plane just 5 1/2 hours out of Maui in a little funky island called Pago Pago that didn’t even have a tower for the airport, but the Samoan people were super nice! We made it to North East Australia on the Gold Coast where we celebrated Christmas. It was a great first leg of the trip.

Thoughts on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Thoughts on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Being a Hall of Famer (Van Halen) I am qualified to vote for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees every year. As I wait for my ballot every year, I open it with anticipation of seeing my name as a solo artist in there, haha. When someone sent me this from Ultimate Classic Rock I thought it was great and almost bought into it. Then I realized it’s someone’s opinion not for real... as of yet.
