November 09, 2010 by Michiganmike

My upmost Appreciation to the Veterans
who have served or are serving in all
branches of our ARMED FORCES around the
World and to those who gave the Ultimate
Sacrifice for our FREEDOMS
I know a few serving now, or have sons,
daughters or parents serving that belong
to this Redheaded family ...

Thank you to all those who have given the
Ultimate Sacrifice, God Bless ...

Godspeed to all and bring them home safe

I found this in the paper and saved it ...

Yrs ago our daughter , in the 8th grade , a contest was held
@ her school to win a Flag that had flown over the US Capital.

Our daughter , now grown up won for her poem ....

Stacey's PROUD PARENTs in NEW YORK !!!

This Flag of Red White n Blue
May not mean very much to you .

But as for me this Banner Flies
And with it's Mighty Voice it Cries
Out to people far and near
To Proclaim Our FREEDOM here .

A Small beginning I agree ,
But like the Acorn to the Tree.
Thirteen States we had at First ,
But as Our Country grew , our Thrist
for LAND and FREEDOM did not STOP.

That Land did well : Produced a Crop
For this Counrty of the World to Share
And then they Know Our FLAG was Fair .

And Underneath this Starry Wing
Foreign people help to Sing .
The GREATEST Story ever TOLD ,

Of it's Birth into this World
And of it's Wonderous FLAG Unfurled .

And Over the WORLD theres ne'er will Stand
That will mean as Much to me

An Army Cadences ....

The Army Colors

The Army colors,
The colors are blue,
To show the world
That we are true.

The Army colors,
The colors are green,
To show the world
We're a fighting machine.

The Army colors,
The colors are red,
To show the world
The blood we've shed.

The Army colors,
The colors are black,
To show the world
That we're on the attack.

The Army colors,
The colors are white,
To show the world
That we can fight.

We use words like honor, code, loyalty ...

We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending

Love these lines from " A Few Good Men "

[ I took liberties of changing sum of the wording ]

"Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have
to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You ? You ?

I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom.
You weep for deaths and you curse the marines. You have that
luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know :
that all deaths, while tragic , probably saved lives. And my
existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to some, saves

You don't want the truth because, deep down in places you don't
talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on
that wall.

We use words like honor, code, loyalty ...
We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending
something. You use them as a punchline.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to
a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom
that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it.

I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way.
Otherwise I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand at post.
