The Rev

August 25, 2010 by exsell2112

My father-in-law passed away on August 1st 2010 after an 8 year battle with M.S. He was a great man who loved Cabo. Without him, I never would have been introduced to the magic of cabo, nor found the CaboWabo Cantina. I called him "The Rev" because he was a Pastor. Although, one could always converse with him as a normal guy. He never judged people and was always a source of strength, comfort and encouragement. When I hear the song "Eagles Fly," I think of him breaking free from his shackles here on earth and soaring "Where Eagles Fly".....As one of his favorite scriptures Isiah 40:31. I can only hope that Sammy will play this song at the Cantina when I am there on his birthday 10/13 this year. I understand though if Sammy can't because it's not a "party" song. Nevertheless, my wife, my brother-in-law, my sister-in-law and myself will all say a toast to "The Rev."

Sammy should play "Eagles Fly" at probably 2 of the Bash shows Jason. Which ones? Who knows?

Sorry for your loss. That song has special meaning for me as well I lost a very, very close friend about 17 years ago and that song still brings tears to my eyes. I really love that song when Sammy plays it totally acoustic without the rest of the band. I love it either way though. Hopefully he will read this and play it for you!

Great idea. I'll have to hit the Cabo Walmart and see what they have for Poster board.

Thanks for the cool reply. Yes, it would be awesome if Sammy was able to play it. Gonna have some fun regardless.

very sorry for your loss, but also glad as you put it that he was able to break free from those painful shackles here on earth, and hopefully you can take comfort in the fact that you will get to see him again someday♥ you know his spirit will be with you down in Cabo, maybe it will whisper "Eagles Fly" in Sammy's ear, who knows!!

That was very touching...make a sign that says "eagles fly" and hold it up and see what happens doen't hurt to try.

Peace to your and your family
