...and you have Sammy blasting from the box, and you're singing along, if you are not TOTALLY exhausted and sweating when you're done....
You're doin' it wrong. ☺
Glad everyone got back from Cabo safely. Let's burn up this damn winter season and gear up for everything that's comin' at us in 2011.
Every time I add to my ever growing collection of Sammy's music, I like to post a little something when I am really impressed by my latest acquisition. I figured, what better time to do so than on the eve of 10/13. For anyone who is growing tired of my blogs or record reviews around here, feel free to move on, this one may be a tad lengthy. I'm sure this blog will fast get buried under all of the Cabo hoopla and that's cool, but I write these blogs for myself, and my close RedHead pals who I know appreciate what I put forth here for everyone.
I just wanted to say how much I freakin' love this album. Sorry it took me this long to get around to listening to it!
Hope all you hard-cores are having a blast south of the border, and hope the rest of you are having blast doing whatever it is you're doing in whatever part of the world you're in doing it in.
Just wanted to tell all my favorite RedHead pals how much I hate you for being able to go to Cabo without me. :-p HA!! You know I'm just teasin' all of you...♥☺♥☺
Seriously, I wanted to say to EVERYONE who is making the trek to have a blast, but first and foremost have a safe trip, be smart, and get back in one piece to rub it in...er... I mean SHARE all your crazy pics and stories with the rest of us poor saps who wanna be there so bad we can taste it. *smack smack*...mmm, sorta tastes like salt and limes...
Okay I asked this over on FB too but figured I'd give the die hard RedHeads a chance too.
So Cabo Wabo Vegas was asking on FB, what's your favorite Sammy song? If YOU can pick just one, congrats, I sure cant'. But here's my version...
If Sammy showed up on your doorstep tonight with his guitar and said "You and I are gonna sing together. You get to pick JUST ONE song from my whole career, from Bad Motor Scooter to Poundcake to Bitten by the Wolf...just one..."
What would you choose?
Have fun with this one!!
...summer, that is. I went outside with my dog the other evening, it was very cool, I could hear the sounds of the local high school football game being played, and could smell someone's fireplace or firepit burning somehwere nearby, so I knew it wouldn't be long. Fall is just a few days away, and while it is normally my favorite season, I am kind of sad to see this summer come to an end. This summer, will always go down in my books, as the "Summer of Sammy", when Chickenfoot helped me discover the wonderful world of RedHeads.
Well RedHeads, I am back, and as you can see, a full fledged member of the RedHead family. What an amazing experience this was. Let me start by saying that everything everyone has always said was SO true, Sammy and his people are just awesome. So gracious, couldn't have asked for a better time. I met SO many RedHeads and loved them all!! Apologies to anyone I called by the wrong name, or just flat out forgot your name. I met, hugged, kisssed, and partied with so many of you, and it was the most fun I think I have ever had. you guys and gals all made me feel SO loved and welcome.
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD. I was so bummed when I found out that the backstage pass contest didn't apply to the Chickenfoot shows. I opened my e-mail this morning and almost fainted. I am crying like a damned fool right now this is ridiculous. Thank you THANK YOU THANK YOU for answering my prayers. I am waiting to wake up I swear. Not only did they do a backstage pass giveaway but I f*ckin won it!! I never win anything in my life. Holy sh!t this is gonna be one birthday I will never forget. THANK YOU Sammy, Chickenfoot, and redrocker.com you have no idea how happy you have made me.
Okay, I do not know the answer to this, so, um, I guess I won't know if you're right but...
Can anyone tell me what the A-side songs were for "Fallen from Grace" and "Dangerous Curves"? I have been told these are rare, B-side only tracks that were not on any albums (at least the first one wasn't). So, I was just curious what anyone might now about them. They are both great tunes, I am so grateful to my special RedHead sista who has been hooking me UP big time with building my Sammy collection...we just don't know much about these two.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Everyone always talks about how listening to Sammy's music has helped them through tough times in life, which I always totally could believe, but never had to find out for myself. I usually like to be sort of the class clown around here (or anywhere really!!), but I unfortunately had to find out how Sammy could help me through a tough time. Last night we had to put down our beloved dog Rowdy. He was 16 and had been in failing physical condition for some time. Long story short, I was a flippin' basket case last night.
