SAMMY'S NEW YEAR WITH NICKELBACKERS AND RED HOT CHILI PEPPER.

If your New Year's was anything like ours, you

probably don't remember much of it. But Cabo San Lucas

transplant Sammy Hagar is one dude who had a pretty memorable

New Year's celebration from the sounds of it. First off, not only did it

stretch well into the 2nd of January, but it involved Red Hot Chili

Pepper Chad Smith filling in on drums during a performance, and

a few drinks shared with Nickelback's Chad and Mike Kroeger.

Live Music Meets the Superbowl

Rocker Sammy Hagar, seen in a June 2002 performance in Houston, is one of the stars of the SuperBash, a 5-day series of concerts leading up to the Super Bowl here, Jan. 28-Feb. 1. Hagar will also host the main stage for three of those days.

Red or Dead Benefit

Dear Red Heads,

I hope your Turkey day was great.  Unfortunately, the Red or Dead Benefit that was planned for December 22, 2003 at the Marin Civic Center isn't going to happen.  We have cancelled it because we started working on it too late.  I never realized how much work is involved in putting on a benefit.  Sorry about the news but I'll see ya in Cabo 12/28, 12/31 & 1/2/04.

Animal Rescue Foundation Concert

Sammy and the Waborita's will be performing a semi-electric accoustic set on January 9th in Walnut Creek benefiting the Animal Rescue Foundation.  The line up for the evening is Jim Hackenberry (Bay Area Artist), Kevin Cronin (REO Speedwagon) and a comedian guest.

Old Friends and Upcoming Tour Dates

A couple of months ago I called Alex out of the blue because we had run into a mutual friend and both of us said to tell each other "hello". So I said, "I am going to call him" and we talked. Alex said "Hey, next time you are down here call me and we’ll have dinner or lunch or something." So a few weeks ago I was in L.A. I called Al, we had lunch, spent the whole day together. It was great. Reconnecting as friends. That was the end of it. A couple weeks later I talked to Ed on the phone, and a few times since then.
